Boy Howdey that's a nice trip.
I got on a lake about 6:00 this morning . I took the same pair of old 7 1/2' UL BPS Micro Lites that I have been using many years. The 4lb Cabelas Pro Line 1/4lb spool of mono I spent $7 for supplied the line .
I was entertained by a couple spray planed dive bombing some soybean fields off in the distance.
The bite seemed to be fairly strong from the start .Most bluegills, Red Ear, and crosses were holding at 9' to 4' and more out away from the weed edges. The 14' to 16' flats held some. I lost one golden sparkle red butt jig to wood. I kept only mid size fish. I was pleased to get one bluegill that was just a tad shy of 10". I wouldn't imagine that would be a big deal to most of you but this lake is on the way back from a VERY sad state . I have high hopes it will shine again. I was back home by noon and certainly enjoyed the beautiful day. For some reason I'm getting the feeling fall isn't far off. I took time to smell the flowers lol.
