Once they start breeding and feeding in April/May. I can sell you some, but the God given variety is best. There are millions of these black soldier flies around your neck of the woods. You've probably never seen them, but they're there. Just start some catfish chum in a five gallon bucket, let the water out once it's finished, then they'll find it and lay eggs in it. You have thousands in a few weeks, more than you could fish in a season.

i have heard that too.up where i am the water is usually pretty clear.black has been my best color last couple years.why ?i have no idea.my friends further south swear by white and yellow.another buddy up here uses orange spiders and blue and white sub surface bugs.i think it is a regional thing and a lake by lake thing at times.also what ever you have more confidence in

black is a high contrast color in murky or clear water. white or yellow is easily seen in clear water also. I learned this years ago from using a Color-C-Lector.
