    We spent several weeks in Lake Havasu when we were RVing. The original London Bridge was sold to Lake Havasu when they replaced it. It was numbered by parts, and shipped to the USA. It was reassembled and now crosses a causeway to an island which has shops on it. If I remember correctly, they built the bridge first, then dug the canal under it creating the island.
    One of you natives correct me if I am wrong, but that is what I remember. My fishing buddy that I fish with in Oregon lived in Lake Havasu until a few years ago. He sold his house there and moved full time to his home on the Oregon coast.
    I took this in 2005. I did not know then that the fishing was so good or I would have tried it. Thought some folks would find this interesting, I had no idea until we visited Lake Havasu. It is a beautiful place to live and play.

    blackfish - Havasu is north east of us - we fish the southern part of the lake. The area SeaRay is posting about is north in Havasu City. I have not fished that area and that is where the world records are coming from. In "05" the crappie fishing was really good - strippers have decimated them. The bass - especially smallmouth fishing is very good. BGs, REs, and Gillcracker fishing is phenomenal!

    Olegiller - Really need a solid drag and good rod to fish 2lb. izorline is incredible and affordable. We also use Yo-Zuri hybrid, cast great , but breaks closer to 6lb. Goal is a world record on 2lb - with a jig that I tyed. Downside with the 2lb is that I get smoked at least once or twice a trip out there.
    Hola Brett - imagine running into you here. Haven't posted in "a long minute" on this site. Let me know when you want to latch on to some real hogs or the infamous Lake Perris Coppernose.... LOL
    eagle - amazing is understatement. I tied my PB RE (2lb13oz from last year) on the 2nd fish I caught. The 1st fish I hooked ripped off 20 yards of line before it broke off. Got my new PB (3lbs8oz) the following evening. And can't forget the BGs, Hybrids, or smallmouth!!!!

    VaCrappieMan - Used mostly 2 rod combos with the jig fishing;
    Trapara - TP662LX 6'6" rated 3-8lb with a Quantum PT 10 Energy and a GLoomis G2 7' 1pc. rod with a Quantum PT 10 Tour reel. Both combos are spooled with izorline XXX 2lb. test line. I was using 1/32nd custom poured football jig, Eagle Claw Lil' Nasty #6 hook, tyed Automatic style.

    Lupinus - fish eat year round and got a bunch to eat!!!

    blackfish - you're ~90 min, from where we fish. Half way point (I'm in Riverside) for us when we are heading up there. We stay in Parker - buddy keeps his boat there - or we stay at Havasu Springs. You do know about the heat - right????? Surprised you haven't fished Lake Perris - has big crappie and nobody fishes for them....
