    Default Favorite float/bobber for gills?

What brand or kind is your favorite for fishing bluegills?
Can be slip or clip on. I have plenty for crappie but need to get some lighter for targeting bluegill. Thanks!

Same as for every other fish: wagglers.

One caveat: the waggler is for casting. For still fishing with a cane or telescopic pole, you can't beat a light Euro pole float.

During the hard water season a spring bobber can't be beat hands down. During the soft water season I use a fixed stick balanced bobber.

Don't remember the brand name, but small round or pear shaped styrofoam floats with a built in lead weight around the bottom post. These are clip on floats that sell about 3 for $2 available at Walmart and most sporting goods stores that sell fishing gear. The weight makes casting easy and reduces the resistance for fish to take it under easier. Just gotta match the size to the split shot or jig head weight.

Another option for a DIY waggler is a drinking straw. Just plug the ends with some type of filler (paper, etc.) Seal it with epoxy and put a barrel swivel in one end to run your line through.

The light weight floats, quill or straw floats. How do you cast them? I fish from shore and know it don't take much to sink a float that size. So that means there not much weight to be able to cast far. ESP a guy like me fishing the bank. Correct?
