Default Another Florida shellcracker and blue gill tip amazing

Well here goes my 3rd. post. I try and post INFO. that will help you forum members catch fish the simplest way possible. This is called" the set up method" to locate scattered beds. First off it's best to use the old timey corks that you have to tie your line to, to pull it through the cork and a tooth pick. Poke the tooth pick down in the cork so it will not slip. We all know a bed is a tad deeper than the lake floor around it. NOW, squeeze on a split shot big enough to make your cork stand up quickly when your lead is off the bottom. ( VERY IMPORTANT ) Now set your cork at several spots beside your boat so it will just TILT, COCK HALF WAY UP ON A 45 DEGREE ANGLE. Now fan cast around your boat and reel in about ft. or so and stop whenever cork stands straight UP. If you are in a bedding area usually the cork will disappear as soon as it stands up, you have just pulled it in a bed. Oh by the way, the reason you check it several times around the boat is to make sure you are not setting on top of a bed. Try it I PROMISE IT WORKS.

On my next post I will share how to LOCATE beds in muck bottom with a big split shot and a GRAPHTE rod, no cork. You won't believe it !

Hope this helps my forum friends, REELTRICK
