    Default starting a fish hatchery

We dug our first pond in June but it was leaking until a month ago when we lined the bottom with bentonite. Today we stocked fifteen brood stock bluegill into it, fish that had been waiting in 4x3x2 PVC/plastic mesh cages in a nearby pond since I brought them back from the panhandle in Florida the end of May. We have ten more in a raceway on the same property and will be moving them to the pond one day next week. The fish are a little pale at the moment due to the cooler water temps but will be pretty stunning come April.

Thanks, Hellbender! Considering they're bluegill, AKA the underwater rabbits, we should have a passel of them along about May or June.

Eagle, we could bring you some - you're only 147 miles from the hatchery. Just let me know in the spring if you want some and we'll deliver them to your lake.
