In my kayak the last few outings I've caught lots around the banks. It's not quite that cold here where I'm at but its been in the fifties at night. Also, the length of time it's been chilly makes an impact too.
Hey guys, I have never fished this late into the season before other than on the Ice. It has been aroun 40-50 set at night with day time high of 70-75.
Can I sti catch gills in shallower water from the bank with no boat? Or have they ready moved to deeper water? I would really like to get a mess for supper and take the family out. Thanks guys!

I've caught shallow all the way through January. Of course, I'm in Georgia.
Can't hurt to try.
In the afternoon, before it gets dark. allot of little ones though.
Fish the blowdown trees. I've been getting them there all year.
Here in TN we always have a good fall bite for shell cracker Gills.

Heading out this afternoon. I'm going to try small bay and areas that been in sun all day. Hoping the warmer water will have em. Thanks guys
Fishing was rough. All we could find was schools of dinks right up close to the bank. I threw all kinds of stuff at em.
one of our best baits was the shrimp in the salt brine. Worked really well. Who ever posted about that a while ago thanks cause it works well.
I did catch one small crappie about 8 inches. Really nice and warm. Idk water temps but was not really all that cool. I thought we would have done much better.
