Beats the heck out of the cold weather and snow we been living with for weeks now. I would love to get out onto the water. When you have to dress for ice fishing you don't belong in a small boat fishing.
Keep them poles bent and the boat right side up! LOL

When I can't find the bluegills in the winter here in North Carolina, I gladly keep a mess of white perch like this. Found 18 big ones in deep water today. In my opinion, just as tasty as bluegills or crappie.

    FLfisherman,

I recognize that ramp and have fished there often. Haven't made it to FL this winter, but hope to meet you down there and swap some stories in early spring or next winter. I have heard that the bigger gills are up close to the connecting canal on the right as you leave that ramp. Good luck !!

Those honkin big white perch really got my attention. Would you be willing to share methods of how you fish for them? Thanks.

yes there is a canal to the right across the lake....the fish have been hard to find these past 4 weeks....last year the specks were hot in late jan.-feb. in 3-4ft of water...the bluegills are hit and miss

Just being out there makes it a very nice day. Catching fish is a bonus. Fantastic photo.
