    This fish was never in a cooler. Picture was taken within a minute of being caught. You can't really tell by the pic but it's probably 1.5" wide across the backbone.

    No red eyes,it's a hybrid. Or a weird colored war mouth? Cool fish anyway. Be it was fun to catch.

    I believe it is a plain old Warmouth or what we call ''Goggle eye ''. The shaded spot kinda changes look of eyes and bet their red. How many does this make ? lol

    Sons biggest Warmouth. A lot darker where we fish. I maybe wrong. Fish sure look different in other places. This one was in the Texas hill country. Crystal clear water. I can't see the red eyes on this one either. But was ...

    That's the markings on the gill plate I associate with a warmouth. I think they look different depending on the water they come from. The shape of the fish is also different too though. Nice fish anyway you fillet it!

    We call them Rock Bass around here and find them in wide spots in streams.
