    Default Bacon For Bluegills?

Seen it used a few times now and it sure seems to work good. Havent tried it myself. Anyone done it before?
Take a strip of raw bacon and let it sit out for a bit then cut little bits off and hook it through. Heard the fish/bait staying on hook ratio is great

When I first started fishing at a local pond there were small brookies in the stream feeding the pond there were guys saying they used hotdogs( small pieces) for them.

In the 60’s when I was a child me brother and me would use bacon for panfish while fishing the lagoon in Brown Deer park(Milwaukee Wisconsin)
We also used Whole Kernels of canned corn.
We always seemed to catch fish from what I remember !
As Adults I don’t think we tried it.
I might just give it another try.

I've used hot dog pieces, corn, gizzards, and liver with some success. Bacon was like liver, for me. Fish liked it, but stole it off the hook easily. Did see a young man catch a pretty big bass with bacon one time.

Interesting. I have used sun dried bits of hot dog but not bacon.............yet. Might try it soon.
