Finally got a decent BG this year. It was 10.75" and 1.2#. First BG I could lip like a bass. Of course I had the pond to myself and no camera The tallness of the fish was amazing and no way I could fit my hand around to holr the spines down Was much beefier compared to the 10+" fish I got earlier in the year which fit in my hand to unhook.

Fishing from a small boat, and it hit a 2" white curly tail on a white 1/16 jig head as soon as it hit the water under the overhanging trees. Thought it was a bass till it did not jump and started doing what I call the "Crazy Ivan".

I will catch it again when it gets bigger

Congrats. Their shorts bursts and cuts back n forth are a lot of fun on light tackle.

Camera is a must when fishing! I have mine in a ziplock bag and in it's own pocket in my fishing bag. Another forum I frequent that deals with old US made machinery has a saying, no pics, didn't happen! Kinda feel that way with fishin also.

LOL I agree and I always take it to the lake. But not to the little pond where I got that rascal.

I have been getting some decent ones while bass fishing on a 1.5 squrebill crank but not like that big gill.

Almost 11" and 14 oz shellie

    10.5" 14 oz
