    Default Crappie nibbles? Opinions please

I've heard that these work great for crappie and panfish too when you tip a jig with them. Used them for the first time yesterday and got 2 strong hits that completely sunk my cork but no fish either time I set the hook. Seems like the fish are just hitting the nibble maybe?? But seems like it would have to get the hook too?? Opinions are appreciated!! Not sure if the gills or the crappie were hitting it. It was almost dark. Thanks a lot. I was using them to tip a trout magnet.

IMO, tipping a jig will often lead to fish nailing the bait/nibble and missing the jig. That's one reason I don't tip as much as I used to. Tipping really helps sometimes, though.

Yea. That's what I'm saying. I thought that's what it seemed like was happening. That was the first time I'd tried tipping.

I have found that tempering the PB so it is like a piece of soft leather helps keep the bait on the hook. The bait is really to soft as it comes out of the jar. Fish bump the lure and knock the soft bait off of the hook.

If you are getting pull downs and no hook ups try a smaller lure/hook combo.

I have used power bait summer and winter for years with good success.

yeah it's great stuff, I use white ones on hair jigs to catch crappie and bluegills, seems they need it to be in the water long enough to start dissolving alot of times before they take it.If I am missing fish then I'll start letting them have it longer before I set the hook seems to work .
