    Default Guadalupe redbreat and rio grande perch


    This month has been excellent on Lake Dunlap (Guadalupe River) in New Braunfels, Tx for redbreast bream and rio grande perch. There is a free boat launch under I-35 in New Braunfels. The lake is about 6 miles long and is a section of the Guadalupe River.

    In the Aquarium trade they are called Texas Cichlids I think. They are pretty aggressive eaters! Related to The Green Terror of South America...

    Mexican Bluegill, that's funny...... I'm headed out with a couple of Texans to Lake Calaveras tomorrow morning and will pass this one one. We will be after 10 inch BlueGills if they are where they are supposed to be. The redbreast are still tearing it up on Lake Dunlap. Here is a photo of a few keepers from a short trip late yesterday.
