Blugill if thats all I have. Crappie if thats all I have.
I have learned though, don't eat a gill and then a speck. Kind of ruins a meal.
Another vote for Bluegill.

I like Crappie ....
Since I only fish for bream during the spawn I love 'em. We will cook up 3 or 4 messes a year and they are great. Course we eat crappie much much more and they are hard to beat too. But then again, I never caught bream big enough to fillet either.....just a good hand sized bream is what I catch and keep till I get a limit.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
I've never eaten a bluegill that was't filleyed. How else can you eat them?
I fillet the bigger ones, but I just scale, cut off the head and gut the smaller ones. Fry them a litle longer than you would a fillet. You can even eat the fins if you get them just right..........crispy and delicious.Originally Posted by Rattler
Bluegill hands down. I eat gill fillets at least once a week year round and twice when I can convince the wife I need an extra fix. :D I like the crappie too , just prefer gills when there is a choice. Mike
