    Default Lake Perris 03/03

It was a real good day for Redear (RE) fishing. Granted they ain’t the giants but all are in the 10” to 11” class. The majority of the fish came in 6’ to 12’ – surface water is 64.7* F. Me and my boy Tu were using 2lb test & crawlers with a custom 1/32nd football jig and I used my CK3 special (John must have been smiling on me today). That jig caught a lot of the Redear for myself. We also used the chub (1/48th) and the chub belly spinner (1/24th) with crickets. Tu caught 3 nice Bluegill (BG) using a 1/32nd Tyrone (LP OG jig) also. We kept 38 Redear and 2 Bluegill.

    Beautiful fish.

Are you both using the same rod? What's the make and model?

Can you fix the date? Should be 04/03/11. Thnx

The rod is the Phenix Elixir FX701-1 (2-6LB) with Pluger Patriarch. Was also using St.Croix Premier PS66ULF (2-6LB) with a Shimano Saros 1000 and a Custom wrap California IM7 blank 7' 2-piece (2-6LB) with a Pluger Supreme XT - all strung with Yo-Zuri hybrid 2lb green.

Not sure what Tu was using.

I can't edit a title of a thread, just the posts in that thread. Sorry.

OK, I remember you talking about the Phenix rods. Very nice outfit.

I spend most of my time ...lately...on the Crappie side of the house. Although that will change when our waters warm up a little more. I am a Shellcracker and Bluegill nut. I too use light line...2# test. Those are nice fish! I have been catching 5 and 6 inch fish the last week or so but don't have to tell you how they fight. Don't want to hijack your post so am sending you a PM about rod and reel.

    Regards
