    Question Gulp Alive Crickets

Anyone use these yet? Our granddaughter is coming to visit in a couple of weeks and wants to go bluegill fishing..Just wondering if these work..Live crickets are hard to find at our local bait shops..

    Thanks

WalMart stores have live crickets. They work a lot better also.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

There was a mini-review over on the MOTV site about them, and the guy said he caught a lot of fish with them. I use the alive waxies and angleworms with fairly good success (I've caught bream, bass, and catfish on them) so I imagine if there are fish there, they will bite them.

I haven't seen the crickets in the store yet here in OK (Walmart, Academy, or BPS) but I'll be picking some up as soon as they get them.

No crickets in the OK Walmarts... just nightcrawlers and the trout worms/red wrigglers. I have seen preserved crickets though and those do ok but you need to use them the first time so its not very cost effective.

go online and buy them from a cricket farm. get them in 100,500,or1000 and put the whole box in the freezer when you get it. after they are froze get you some of the xtra small ziplock bowls and fill each bowl up w frozen crickts. each bowl hols about 125 or so. take them out when you head out to fish and put them in the cooler and your good to go. my boys have caught over 400 in 5 trips in the last two weeks. all on frozen crickets.plus you aint got to catch em to put em on the hook.

... around the DonG household :p .... I doubt Mrs G would allow it

Now ... that may be an option, if Don has a freezer in his "time out" room (aka - the garage) :D
