Yup,:o
I noticed it after posting the pic and realized most folks won't get that some are legs and some are whole. I know most y'all never heard of frying a full frog, we're just lazy!:D Also noted that it looks like a heart attack in the works! Sadly that is the full meal. Nothing healthy in that pic!
We gig hundreds a summer and have found that big frogs have a hunk of flesh on those lil' front legs. It is just easier when skinning a bunch to leave the frog whole if they're meaty enough.
As you can see, by dawn we're not all on the same page as far as to what size frogs keep their front ends! We are usually pretty deep in the cooler and get really lax on standards.
We do a fair size fry on a lot of Fridays, this 1 was small as most regulars were at a birthday party for somebody's kid. (We ain't usually invited to these deals as we do not have kids????) The door is open to friends. Y'all are welcome anytime.

fish ain't all that bad either. Wish I lived closer:D

Sittin here wishin I was out fishin!!!
Got ya basser! I never thought about cleaning the whole frog but I just might try it, ifin I can get one big enough to do. Have to wait until the family is gone when I cook em up though, afraid they will leave and not come back! Im loving that deep iron skillet, thats what I fry chicken in.
those look very good, I have never really thought about it and this might sound like a dumb question, but what kind of frogs are those? Can you just fry up some Alabama bullfrogs and eat them. We use to have some big ones here in the old mud holes. How do you prepare them anyway? Those fish look great, I know what to do with them for sure.
Bullfrogs! Yep, you can just go get some of those in lil' mud holes and eat them. These came from a chain of privately owned ponds that are L O A D E D with frogs. Prepare them just like the fish. Same batter and pan you use for your fish.
Funny to me is that 4 frog legs fetch $25 a plate @ a few local restaurants! To top it of they're frozen, not local and not hardly edible if your used to fresh frogs.
Andy
Good lookin meal.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
i love me some frog legs! i go to a place in fayetteville nc called super china and they have some of the biggest salt and pepper froglegs around. my plates are usually 1 or 2 crableg plates, 2 frogleg plates, some peel and eat shrimp along with garlic smothered shrimp topped off with hibachi rice and black peppered chicken. sleep like a baby when i get home!might go tonight! i would like to know about cleaning anf frying whole bf's!i know what you mean about pricing fl's.internet prices are $55 for 5lbs
