Thread: Bass Boat Crash

I love fast bass boats and have owned a couple but that scared the crap out of me. He was out of control when he hit that first wake and did'nt even know it. The side to side rocking is called chine walking and can be controlled but should also be respected. The boat was trimmed up enough and powerfull enough to lift the hull out of the water so that only a small portion of the pad was left to stabilize the boat, kind of a balancing act. Good to see the PSA for kill switches and life jackets but I missed the one that told people not to be foolish.

and my canoe has a 3hp Rude motor if it gets ta go'n too fast,,I'll just unbolt it, let it drop and go back & find it with my 997SI....& bring it up with an old horseshoe magnet...

yep, idiot was running that boat like it was a jet ski. He deserved the hard lesson. I just chewed out a couple of 20 year olds for running their daddy nice fish and ski full open up Talala creek and causing a 2' wake at the ramp. Their wake tossed my boat sideways against the rocky shoreline at the ramp while I was trying to get going. I let loose a barage of foul language at them and pretty much dared them to F with me. They never said a word to me, loaded the boat up, and got out of Dodge. I was extremely ticked off over it and was lucky not to have damage to my truck from vandalism.

Hey reaper, how did you boat turn out after all the hard work? I don't think I've seen the latest pictures. It was sure looking fine a couple of months ago and I'm sure you've done even more to it.

Reaper; I know the type, last year we were anchored up on the rip-rap north of 69 bridge, just got the rods out and here comes the ski boat, within 30 yds. of us, then 2 more passes a little closer each time. I yelled to go on! They only laughed....until the 4oz. sinker was cast to within 6' of their boat. They finally got the hint and headed away from us......I swear some of these idiots put me over the top!
