Loaded up the kid and my mom to get out of the house. We went to McGee Creek to drown some worms on the dock. That plan went along well and we were out of worms just in time for the kid's attention span to run out. I started fishing for myself using plastics and jigs with no luck, I got frustrated and began switching through different action and profile shapes. Finally I found the right depth and bait combo! Persistence paid off and the kid came running back because she wanted a pic with my catch. Afterwards I caught some really nice looking ones all colored up with blue backs, those were great to see! We didn't keep any, mostly bc we hadn't planned on catching any.
Edit: It has just occurred to me that this is also my first crappie of the year!!

Squirminator those are one of the best outings. They'll last a lifetime of memories. Still look back at pics of my girls about that size with fish & they're 18 & 20 now. Tight lines sir
