Glad to see you’re on the crappie again, Tim. Thanks for the report.

Good morning. This is my first post to the forum, but I have been following for a while now. I was hoping some of the local Kaw experts could provide me a little help. My wife and I are heading to Kaw this weekend to camp and hopefully fish a little. My wife likes to fish but does not have that much experience. I would really like to get her on some crappie (or even some catfish) so that she can have an enjoyable time, but I have not fished Kaw in at least 20 years. Would anyone be willing to share some wisdom and insight on where we might focus our fishing. We will be fishing from a boat. So, we can get to pretty much anywhere on the lake. I have enjoyed reading your posts, and I will really appreciate any advice anyone is willing to share. Thanks!

The rain on Friday changed our plans a little. We did not get to the lake until Saturday afternoon, and after driving through the boat ramp parking lot, we decided to stay off the lake until Sunday morning. We were able to get out Sunday morning. We did not fish too hard and so did not catch a limit. But, thanks to your advice, we did get on some crappie and caught a few. I have not been on Kaw since I was a kid. I forgot how pretty the lake is. My wife and I are planning a return trip for July. We would like to fish a little harder next time and maybe catch a limit. Would also like to try to catch a few catfish. Thanks again for the helpful tips. I really appreciate it. If we ever manage to run in to one another around the lake, I would be happy to buy you a beer. Cheers!
