Big Sky's home!
Common sense isn't always that common!

Well, it's my home away from home. Went there yesterday. and I predict a nice future in a year or two, judging from the nice crop of dinks I got. Next couple of years, they should be nice-sized fish. Did come home with 9 keepers to 12 inches. Only other person at the dock was a young lad who got a bunch of dinks and two of the keepers that I came home with. Nice to visit with a young lad who prefers fishing over video games.

Went with a friend this afternoon. We got about 25 dinks and 7 keepers to 12 inches. Planning on being there tomorrow about 2:45. Maybe see you there, Ck6. They say the bite starts between 8 and 9 AM, but I work in the morning most days. I'm happy to just get out, get a few pulls on the pole, and visit with some nice people.
Ck6, if you made it there yesterday but didn't see me, I only made it as far as Covell road, where I got the first flat tire ever on my 1988 Toyota. The jack wouldn't lift high enough, and the lowering mechanism for the spare tire was rusted up solid. My son came to the rescue, and got a new tire. Unfortunately, it was getting dark by the time we were shipshape. Maybe catch you another time.
Sorry for the bad luck BigSky. 1988 I’d say you had a good ride!

Got two reports. Last week, I hit the dock during the hurricane (or at least it felt like one). The pencils were swinging to and fro, and the dock was rocking and rolling. Had to lean on the rail to keep from losing my balance. The worst of it was that I didn't get a bump. But I DID have the lake to myself.
Then this afternoon, I fished with Ken, Todd's dad, and several other fellows. Nobody beat up on them (the fish, that is), but we all got a few crappie. Tried the new mayfly, but no hits. Chartreuse/pink and black/chartreuse netted about 10 dinks and 5 nice keepers to 12 1/4 inches. Eggs were really well developed, but fish were mostly at 14-19 feet.
I'm new to fishing CB but is there any good brush piles this time of year on the water that are holding crappie. Been out a little this week and not seeing that much on the fish finder and only snagged 1 catfish so far.
