We went out Wednesday for several hours. Never found them. It is still too early on oolagah. It is like this every year. Eufaula is going gangbusters but nothing to be found on oolagah. Give it a
couple of weeks they will be going gangbusters at oolagah too.

Went up some creeks and found them layered from 10’ to 15’ as thick as always in early spring on Oologah. I tried jigs of every color size and shape and minnows with not one bite. They must be feeding at night or something. It’s the same every year it seems, you can see them but they won’t bite. Further out near the main lake they went from 10’ to 20’ but nothing below 20’ and nothing above 10’.

Any recent reports from Oologah? I'm really wanting to get some fishing in this weekend, even though it looks like we're cooling off again tomorrow.

I went today Monday for a couple of hours. Water temp upper 50s. The fish still haven't moved up yet. My guess is that it is probably still a month before the spawn really gets going. Just my 2 cents. Maybe someone else is having better luck than me?

I also went yesterday and we didn't catch a fish in 5 hours. I have heard some reports that they are getting caught in the creeks at night. The monthly "tournament" at Winganon Baitshop was won in April by a fish that was over 3lbs. They said there were two checked in over 3lbs. I don't think we are a month out but the males aren't even up in the shallows where we have always caught them yet.

Went this afternoon for about 3 and a half hours and we brought home 40. Everything we caught was 10"-14". All but 3 were males but the three females were full of eggs. The males had just moved up. Their tales weren't even bloody yet. We missed about as many as we caught. I will add a pic or two tomorrow when I get to my computer.
Thanks clove100 thanked you for this post

Hit Oologah for three hours today and did pretty well. Didn’t get to “the spot” until 12:30 and wasted the first hour in the wrong place. Moved shallower and switched from minnows to roadrunners and it was as different as day and night.

Put the boat in 5.5 to 6.5 feet of water (water temp 65) and using a black and chartreuse roadrunner started nailing them. All of them would have been keepers if I was keeping today.

Big dark males a foot off the bank and several females with bellies about to pop and even a decent sized green carp. Roadrunners out fished minnows 3:1 easily.

Didn’t keep any or take pictures, but they’re hitting.
