Were they following schools of shad?
I know earlier in Jan I was pushing them around with the boat. They were pretty much stationary until I got right over the top of them, then they would scootch off. They wouldn't go far so you could kinda follow them around. If they broke up cause I pestered them too much, I would fish somewhere else for a while. In an hour or two they would be back where they were before. I just got four 16 foot rods and I have a spider rig for them. It will be interesting to see if I can get baits on them without pushing them around.
