Nice job BigSky. Yes it is about Montana time
Been under the weather for awhile, but decided to hit Ft. Cobb. No good. The few people I saw at four different locations said it had been dead for crappie. Went to a private pay-to-fish pond. The owner said no one had caught any crappie recently. Bass were the only fish that was biting. Paid anyway and fished about two hours. Got 19 good crappie and 9 nice eater bluegills, plus four bass that were released.
It's starting to get HOT out there. About time to head for Montana.
Here are some of the fish.

Nice catch, if you ever want company, pm me. I'm pretty available in evenings and weekends.

Went back late this afternoon with Favorite Fishing Partner. Got some nice crappie and a bunch of dinks, as well as some big bluegills. We got more bass than anything else, but only one bigger one, about 3-3.5 pounds. The turkeys were out, and the coyotes were howling. The owner put a 7 PM curfew on us, so we didn't get to fish too long.
Took the float tube to the pond, but couldn't find the big crappie. Got 47 small crappie, 28 big bluegills, 14 small bass, 2 warmouth, two greenears, and two huge golden shiners. With the temps getting hotter, the float tube was a good choice. Besides, you don't have to walk the banks and get covered with ticks.
