Hefner Marina area on the west side of the lake offering some tiny/small crappie, but mostly on minnows in 2-5 ft of water by the bank. White rooster-tail worked a little bit, but didn't have much luck on curly tail or other jig types.

Fished Hefner 9-3 there was dead fish along the bank and out in main lake I counted at least two dozen they were big catfish and walleye . I trolled and fished shoreline from the restaurants to thr west part of the dam i only caught bluegill on 1/4 oz jig with white curly tail grubs . I wonder what's killing the fish there.
How long were the catfish and walleye????
They were all longer than 18 inches they all looked around 10'lbs
This is about the time that the City Water Board does their herbicide applications to kill any water plants along the edges, but usually it just drives the fish away from the banks, making any spawners do their business in deep water. Years ago, one of the regulars out there called the Water Board and asked if they could wait until after the spawning season to do their applications. The Water Board guy asked what dates that would be. Then every year after (according to the regular that I talked with), the board would spray during the spawn. This was a few years before The Water Board chairman shut down Fisherman's road and put up the cables on the west side.
Caught some Jim Dandy's today with Papa. Had a great time with a great friend.
Yup
That was some fun. Didn't last long enough because of the heat, but that's about to change.
Get that spare cot out Nip. I'll be headed your way soon!
