Thread: Grandson's Big Fish

Found an old picture on the PC of my crappie-fishing grandson. We had gone for cats, and fishing was slow at Hefner. I had wandered over toward the golf course to pick up golf balls on the lake bed. The grandson started yelling about "stuck in the mud". Thinking he had done his usual trick of walking into soft stuff, I headed back, only to find him with this big old cat that he couldn't drag across the mud.
The picture doesn't show the whole fish, because he couldn't lift it. It would have been a channel cat lake record for sure, and maybe a state record, if his Grampa had thought to have it weighed officially. It is the proudest moment of his fishing career.
