    Default Walleye- Broken Bow

I posted a thread in the off topic section about walleye at broken bow, but it hasn't got much attention. I'm planning a trip with some buddies down there when the water temps are right and hoping to catch the spawn. Just curious if anyone has any knowledge of the lake, of any species really, but we will be targeting walleye. I've fished for walleye here and there, with some success but would really like to start focusing a little more on them. Any advice helps, even if theres a better lake. PM's welcome, if anyone wants to share their best kept secrets. I live near Tulsa and only go on long trips a couple times a year, so I'm not gonna steal the honey holes. Thanks.

Get some bottom bouncing rigs. You'll probably have to buy them online because I think it's kind of a yankee thing. Troll around the islands and you will catch em. Only bad thing is you will catch about 20-30 Kentuckies for every walleye. Drop straight down to the bottom and put the boat in gear. You will feel the wire on the weight tapping the bottom. We also used to throw crankbaits on shallow points on cloudy days or early and late.

Gotta love learning something new! The only "toothy critters" I've caught were by complete stroke of luck on bobber, minnow and gold hook while crappie fishing, lol. Even a blind hog.....

If you want to try something different, you can try tipping a large hair jig with a piece of belly meat (with skin) from a catfish, similar to fish a pig-and-jig. I have caught hundreds of walleyes that way in Canada, only we used pike belly meat.

Great feedback, keep it coming. Will definitely try those bottom bouncers. I've always used cranks primarily
