Default Needing advice on what route to take

Thursday morning i will be leaving Vinita for beavers bend state park for an annual camping trip with my brother. I have never made that drive so i am looking for suggestions on different scenic routes to take. I am not overly concerned about getting there fast, so direct roads are not a priority.

    Thanks!

Come down 59 through Stilwell and sallisaw. Then through poteau and heavener. It'll lead you over the mountains to beavers bend. It'll be a beautiful drive this weekend.

Don't know where you live. Checrappie told you a good route! I might take I40 to Sallisaw and go south on 59 thru Poteau Heavener south over the mountain thru Big Cedar and it should be a pretty scenic drive ! You are going to be passing really really close to where I would love to be this weekend Lake Wister! Hope you have a great time with your brother! Family time is very important and what a great way to spend it in the outdoors!

You can save some tie by coming down 69, hitting the Muskogee T-Pike, then hit I-40 East to Sallisaw. Then go south on 59 through Poteau, Heavener, Big cedar and over the mountains. Talimena drive should be beautiful too if you're interested in that.
