Thread: Baitfish discussion

Over the years, I've learned the crappie will normally relate to the baitfish. When I'm using my HDS units, I'm always looking for baitfish because to me, that's the crappies grocery store. One thing I'm trying to learn is where do baitfish go during different times of the year? In winter, I normally find them schooled up the creeks. In summer I'll find them near a place with a little current. My question is, do these baitfish travel far or do they normally stay in the same areas year round? What's the rule of thumb to find them consistently?

In the winter on Oologah- Google " Carpet Shad". It would be quicker to explain where they are not.
