    Default Weather

Well with weather on the way : for the next week I'm wondering if it's going to put an end to catching them off of the bank? And if it does where do you start looking? I would think that they will still spawn out even if the water goes high.

Depends on the rain, it doesnt look like a major widespread rain event, so I doubt it will flood many lakes. Even if it wipes out a lake or two, just change lakes . It pays to be mobile! Speaking of weather, be very careful Tuesday afternoon and evening everyone. The dry line is forecast to be at I-35 in the afternoon in a extremely unstable atmosphere that will be capped. In those conditions you may have a super cell form in as quickly as 15-30 minutes from nothing. Keep checking your smart phones and/or keep a radio on, especially if you are on the water. If you have ever had to race back to the launch you know what I mean! 3 years ago I was up otter on kaw, you have low visibility cause your in the creek (and I have no cell coverage). Suddenly dark red dust appears to my west. I threw my stuff down and ran through that nasty stumpy creek and the upper end of kaw as fast as I dared trying to get back to washunga. I barely made it in time to load the boat. I noticed on the way back that Sarge had huge rollers smashing into that launch area, it would have capsized any boat. According to the national weather service, Newkirk, which is to the NW of kaw, had 86 MPH winds from that storm. Whatever you are doing Tuesday afternoon and evening, just stay aware of the weather, be safe!
