Will there be someone at the weigh in location to verify live fish? Not all of the ones who enter have livewell set ups like some of us. Having to keep the fish alive for over an hour from the time fishing hours stop until weigh in may be hard for some.

Swollencrappie, that's a good question with all of us fishing the tournament it's hard to have someone there to verify at the earliest time you can weigh in, you know. EB

Josh, I like Keystone lake don't know why we didn't have more teams in it.

I don't think we have done this in the past. I do know we shortened summer tourneys for fear of this. If that is a concern for an angler you may want to come up with a tagging system and find another boat that may let you put fish in his well. Personally I wouldn't have a problem with that. But may want to see if everyone is ok w it.

Correct Dstreet, it wasnt done in the past. It was a set weigh in time and failure to be at weigh in by set time resulted in dqual. In my mind a see it being a problem because we have had guys in float tubes join us, those in kayaks have shown interest and even bank anglers. Some are lucky to make it the 10 minute drive from the ramp to the scales before losing fish. Granted they may need to find better support systems for the fish. I just see it as a possible problem to have to keep fish alive for up to 90 minutes after fishing hours stop. Sharing livewells with other teams will also get into a hairy situation depending on if the other team wants to keep more then 7, they may keep their limits and now would be over, switching fish, killing fish and laying blame and so on. If a boater stays on the water for an additional 45 minutes to pump fresh water to their catch then there are rumors that they didnt stop fishing at the cut off time, especially if they pull in a win. What is the benefit or reasoning behind the 1 hour delay between fishing hours and weigh in? Not trying to be difficult and maybe this is a system that works well in other trails. I dont know. Just issues i can see coming up but could be totally wrong. Just dont see the advantages of it.

Josh Jones, you should consider doing a challenge on Keystone. Keystone was always held in the winter. We competed against hunting season and extreme cold temps. As stated it was never a good turn out and i can see why it was removed from the trail. I do think that with your knowledge of the lake and when the fish turn on, you may be able to start planning for a challenge that will have a great turn out and will also count as half of a tournament towards fishing the classic. Something to consider atleast.

That is a good idea the first Challenge I did was on Eufaula in Gaines creek. Put it on the board 2 weeks prior and had over 20 teams. It was a good deal, lots of fun. EB

I remember that EB. I didnt get to take part in it but actually remember that being a fun challenge for people and talked about a lot long after the challenge took place. The great thing about a challenge is can be anywhere at any time and can be a lot of fun. New waters. Old waters. Certain methods of fishing only. So many things. And a new face (Josh Jones) starting to hold a challenge or two that would bring new faces and levels of competion to the tournaments.
