Just take the road that goes north on the east side of the dam. It's only about a quarter mile to get to the left turn that goes through the golf course. You can't miss it. He charges $5 per person to fish the pay dock. The dock just to the west is free, but usually doesn't produce as well. This time of year, the bite is very sporadic. They usually turn on just about sunset. They'll bite like crazy for 15 minutes, half an hour, or maybe an hour. Then just shut off. Some guys stay out all night. They say the bite starts again at one or two in the morning, and it lasts longer. I haven't done that yet, because it would interfere with my beauty sleep (and the wife's disposition).

Thank you for the directions Bigsky. I don't know about the dock fishing, I may try it sometime but more than likely if I come over I would bring the boat, like I do that a lot....LOL. My folks had a Resort on Grand in the mid 70's and early 80's and it had a heated fishing dock and an outside dock also so I know about the sporadic bites. Had a couple of retired gentleman when I was a kid that use to come over everyday and crappie fish, that's where I learned from, needless to say I was down there everyday. I probably should just go to the docks, that's what I'm use to, I haven't ever learned how to read my fish finder and chase crappie in a boat so maybe that's why I don't go out much in it, plus being by myself just isn't much fun. Were you out in a float tube Sun at the dam? I saw somebody in one and saw in a previous post that you do that occasionally. Do you live over that way?

I wasn't out Sunday, but I thought about it. Grand kids were in town and they don't have tubes, so we fished elsewhere. I live a couple of miles east of Hefner. I used to fish out of an aluminum row boat. People always asked if I needed a tow, but I loved the exercise. Back problem says that rowing is no longer a good option. If you would like company, maybe we could go out together. My wife says that I go out, not to fish, but to find someone to BS with.

Sounds like a deal. I live in Moore and like to meet new folks and jabber jaw myself. What are the best days for you?

I'll send you a pm, so Reaper won't get on our case for using the forum for private conversations.

I was out there Sun and saw 4 duck boats coming off of the lake on the North side, they were staying at that motel in the small community that I can't remember the name of. Saw a ton of ducks over that way too, flying and on the water.

Went to the Marina yesterday with Bigskyfisherman and had a great time. Good folks over there, very clean accommodations, plenty of room to fish, caught a few and all were keepers. Of course the weather couldn't be beat, it was so calm and relaxing, didn't even need a sweatshirt even after the sun went down, the other fisherman were all visiting and laughing and having a good time, very friendly, reminded me of when I was younger down on our dock. Had a good visit with Bigsky on the ride over and back, and thank you for introducing me to the place Bigsky!
