Default Gene Larew Lures/Rat-L-Trap Press Camp

I've been invited to take Ed Moes, (Owner-Crappie.com) spot at this camp which will be held from Nov 9th-12th at Ft Gibson Lake. It will entail two days of fishing Gibson and Tenkiller with the likes of Tommy Biffle and many others on these fine companies Pro Staff. My lodging and meals will be provided and I am extremely giddy about this event!

The Pros that will be in attendance...

    PROS
    Larew:
    1) Tommy Biffle (BASS Elite)
    2) Terry Blankenship (Crappie)
    3) Dan Dannenmueller and Garrett Steele (Crappie)
    4) John Murray (BASS Elite)
    5) Kevin and Charlie Rogers (Crappie)
    6) Fred Roumbanis (BASS Elite)
    7) Andrew Upshaw (FLW Tour and BASS Opens)
    8) Jacob Wheeler (FLW Tour and BASS Opens)

    Rat-L-Trap:
    1) Cliff Crochet (BASS Elite)
    2) Mark Daniels Jr. (FLW Tour and BASS Opens)
    3) Boyd Duckett (pending)
    4) Casey Martin (FLW Tour)
    5) Andrew Upshaw (shared with Larew)

The pairings will be done Monday evening during dinner. I've no idea whether I'll be Bass Fishing or Crappie Fishing. You all know my preference but who in their right mind would turn down a trip with a well known Bass Angler???
Either one will be fine as I consider it an honor just to have the chance to meet them all.

Gene Larew Lures started in Owasso and moved to 11th and 169 some 4 years back. The Larew line of baits were the first to incorporate salt into their plastics by cooking them into the plastics before they're poured. TAhey also acquired Crappie Pro from Janice Russell after Larrys passing to continue the legacy he began over 20 years ago.

They also make Bobby Garland Baits that most of us have used chasing the almighty Crappie.
With Rat-L-Trap lures, I'll learn something to share about crank baits and Crappie.

After this event, my writing skills will be tested as I put my personal experience into words for the members of Crappie.com.

Maybe if I get to ride with one of the Crappie Pros, I can learn a thing or two about the hunt. If they want to spider rig, I'm calling Papa!

Thanks so much for this once in a lifetime opportunity Ed!

Don't want you to worry about Talala Creek while you're gone- I'll watch over things there! Looking forward to your reports.

Hasn't been anything worth a darn in Talala Creek all Summer and Fall so far. Seems Spencer Creek and south has been it.

I'm bringing back a lot of baits to be shared with all you guys (Stacy too) from this press camp. Today I was taught how to shoot docks and will go into detail on my write up. Tomorrow I'm fishing Tenkiller with two time Crappie Masters Champion, Dan Danenmeuller. He's going to make a valiant effort in teaching me the finer points of Spider Rigging. Later...
