    Default Lake Stanley Draper

I've been catching decent crappie along the rocks south of point 1 in the cove along the road on a white curly tail on an 1/8oz. jig. Better on the jig than on minnows. This was prior to the storms obviously but I was wondering where else on Draper you have had luck recently or in the past. I'll keep this updated as I get out. This report was from the shore but I'll also be reporting from my canoe once the winds slow down.

I haven't fished there in probably a decade. It was terrible fishing back then. But, Draper looks like it has amazing potential now. The low water disaster allowed willow and cottonwood trees to establish along the shorelines. Now that the level is back up it looks like bass and crappie spawn heaven! Keep us updated if you keep fishing it. Should heat in the next few years.

My uncle has been fishing Drapper this week and has been sending me pictures of some real nice crappie he has been catching. He keeps rubbing it in that he's retired and can fish anytime he likes. The pics he sent were of two 16in, one 17in, and one 13in. Going to have to get out there myself and try my luck.

I 've been playing across the pond and trying to keep up with the grand babies. I have made a few trips to Drapper lake and have some fillets in the freezer. So all is well. Don't seem to have the time to get in here as much anymore them grand babies keeping me busy. Life is good!

Man it is hit and miss with me and this lake. Have caught some monsters some trips but have also been skunked or caught only a few other trips. Nothing consistent. I know of some people that do good on docks here but not trying to go back to fishing docks when I have a boat. Looking for any tips on this lake.

Welcome to Crappie Fishing. You have to spend a lot of time on the water and file certain things into memory. When one thing is not working, go deeper or shallower, change up delivery, locations, drop offs vs flats, etc. Most of these guys posting good reports have spent a lot of time on their waters, but just because something is working on one lake does not mean it will be the same on the next lake or even the other end of the lake. Keep pushin!
