Default Question on Elite 5 HDI and a Lake Pro V14 card

I just bought an Elite 4 HDI unit for my trolling motor and an Elite 5 HDI Combo for my console. The Elite 4 did not contain a mini SD card but one was included with the Elite 5 unit. I also seem to have acquired a Lake Pro V14 SD card.

I checked each of my units and read the simple directions but I can't find any evidence that indicates I am supposed to insert the LP V14 card in either unit.

Can someone please tell me what the V14 SD card is for and how to use it?

    thanks, jon

Yes u place in unit. In the menu there should be one to select which map you want to use.

I found the port on each unit for a "mini" SD card but there isn't any port for a standard size SD card. I'm thinking that the standard SD card may contain a library of maps and that those maps have to be selectively copied to the "mini" card which would then be inserted into the unit for lake selection.

The instructions for these units are silent on the matter. And, I still think it's odd that the Elite 4 unit didn't contain a mini card. Oh well…..

It just sounds like your Elite 4 wasn't bundled with this software whereas your Elite 5 was. This is common as you can buy these units with GPS/no GPS, 2D/2D and DI and/or software/no software.

Sounds like you received the wrong card. Maybe one compatible with Humminbird as I believe these are SD cards. The Lowrance should be a micro SD card with a SD adapter.

I assume you can just transfer to a micro SD card as the software is available for download from Lowrance's website. Then again you might not as then what would stop you from just producing multiple cards for you and your friends.

Thanks so much for the reply. I'll see what I can do to set up a mini card and go from there. Good information
