    Default Lowrance software updates

Just updated my Gen 2 Touch 9 to the version 4 released recently. It primarily updates the menus to look like Gen 3. I like them a lot better than the Gen 2 menus but now have to learn my way around them. I just was getting comfortable with the ones that came on it. The new version is more user friendly. I believe there are several other new updates also. I just updated a friends brand new Elite 7 the other day. Just an FYI in case you haven't updated recently.

Guys you can either download the updates from Lowrance site or you can take your head unit to any Bass Pro and for free they will update it there in about 2 minutes. Great Service for us that are not puter wise.......Ranger

It's easy. Just go to the Lowrance web site, Support, updates and look for the one that pertains to your piece of equipment. Download it to your computer, saving it to an SD or micro SD card, as appropriate. Then put the card in your depth finder and turn it on. There are usually some instructions on the Lowrance site. If you update your Gen 2 to Gen 3 you will need a pretty good sized card and you will need to unzip it to the card. It's big so it's a zipped file. If that's too complicated call your granddaughter - she's probably closer than BPS.

Are there any downloads for the elite seven worth driving to bass pro for? My phone is my computer and pretty sure it's not going to work for the update.

Dog you can check on Lowrances site and check for updates. It will certainly tell you if there are updates you need to install.......Ranger

If your phone is the only computer you have, then is no choice but to got to Bass Pro as the update requires use of an SD card to do the update. No smart phone uses SD cards.

That's incorrect, smart phones have mini SD card slots.
