What are you guys thoughts on Spider Rigging? Alot of you do it? What rods do you guys use?

    What techniques do use?

I have a guy that wants to sell me a couple for a good price. (im guessing it is) $50 for both.

Coach, I have been spider rigging for about five years and have done well with it. I recomend calling George
foster for all the rigging. He will tell you how to set up and use all the equipment. His number is 918-271-4555.

Pinnacal Limit Rods and B&M PST. 12ft and a couple of 14's. Capps and Coleman are used a lot here and bunch of the guys have gone to the Ozark trolling pole. Southern crappie rods is another good one. Just a suggestion. You can get 4 Pinnacal limit's for 60.00 from grizzly jig. Get 12 ft to start with if you like it then you can work into the longer and more expensive rods. Depends on whit kind of poles they are as to whether they are worth the 50.00. Almost forgot the CrappieMax from BassPro Titeline Special is a good one but kinda expensive anymore.

Entry level rods B&M Westpoint 12'ers are pretty nice rods and cheap as far as the pocket book goes. Tight Line Specials are excellent rods. As far as racks go there are so many out there it just depends on your needs. ..Ranger

Thanks guys for all the info. Sounds like I need to try those pinnacle rods to start off with and go from there.

Remember Coach you get what you pay for, I have been guiding spider-rigging trips for 10 years. Be sure to get the sturdiest rod holders you can find. Hi tech are a great simple design, also I have a friend who makes them and they are awesome. Alot like perotti bilt design. As for poles there are many to choos from, I like a heavier poles like the Gt crappie stix and the crappie maxx tight line specials. 10 lb hi vis line, seeing the line is improtant when rigging. EB

I was thinking about going with those limit rods. Grizzlyjig has them 4 for $60 bucks. May go with 4 10 footers and 4 12 footers.

You want to get all the same lengths. Makes them much easier to watch, same poles, line, weights, rigs, that way they flow the same when you move. You also want your tips to be sread out evenly and the the same distance from the water. Remember SLOW! Verticle trolling .7mph is as fast as you should go. EB

ahhhh. I see now. ok I will get them the same lengths. So they need to be a tight line, so that means heavy weight right? what about a windy day could cause a lot of tangles right? I guess I can go with 8 12', I have a lot of long poles already they arent stiff enough they are all ultralight so i could see them bouncing with heavy weight
