    Default Oologah Tournament Dec 15th

I just got off the phone with Dean at Winganon Bait and Tackle. We are on for the check in and weigh in to be held there. The check in will be from 630-730 and the weigh in will be at 4. We will all leave from the check in at 730. The lake is over 3 feet low right now so the only ramp open close is Winganon ramp which is 1 & 1/2 miles south of the check in which puts you in Spencer Creek. I will update periodically of other ramps before tournament day.

The store is located at 4180 and Winganon road. Coming from the south on 169 go 4 miles north of Talala and turn right (east) on 3000 RD, aka Winganon Road, and go approx 7-8 miles the store is on your right. From the north on 169 go about 8 miles south of Nowata turn left (east) on 3000 RD aka Winganon Road and go approx 7-8 miles store is on your right. Dean said there would be hot bisuits and gravy, coffee, snacks, tackle and yes Minners. He serves BBQ also, so after the weigh in you can enjoy some ribs or brisket. Hope to see several of you there. REMEMBER THIS IS A ONE POLE PER TEAM MEMBER AND 2 HOOK LIMIT PER POLE TOURNAMENT. SO RIG AS MANY RODS AS YOU WANT BUT DON'T FISH WITH MORE THAN ONE AT A TIME.

Of course this time of the year we will be monitoring the weather closely. If conditions aren't favorable we will make that decision in plenty of time for everyone to know. Oologah can be ugly with an unfavorable wind and we will always err on the side of safety.

I wish I knew the lake. It is close to me. Only place I have been is in Big Creek ramp for sand bass. I fished 20 years of bass tournaments and now got a crappie boat but dont know anything really on how to find and catch crappie. Plus dont know anything about the lake. Hope you all do well and maybe someone can guide me with some place I can find after tournament to catch these critters?

I spoke with Dean at Winganon bait and tackle and he is going to stock extra minnows if you need them. I told him we would make a decision no later than Thursday morning if the weather was going to be bad. So check back in here often to here the latest on the Oologah tournament.

I put in at Hawthhorne and Sunnyside ramps yesterday with no problem. According to Dean Winganon ramp is operational also. I think Spencer creek is ok as well as Redbud. All others are probably not usable due to low water. If anyone has any first hand knowledge of ramp status please post it so we will all know. See you next Sat. the 15th.

Redbud ramp is fine, just enter and exit from the south end.
