I am interested in fishing Lake Hudson. Does anyone have any pointers or were to start? Should I drop my own brush piles and fish them or try locate others?

70 views so I guess I'll try to help lol. I'd do my home work, lots of reading on here. Use what you have read and get a lake map, if you have a smart phone you can get the Navionics app for your map. Go buy some Bobby Garland Baby Shad in 3-4 colors, and go fishing. As for dropping brush you can if you want, I prefer finding the bass fishermans brush piles and fishing those. Main thing is GO FISHING, you never know where, how, or when your gonna catch them, good luck.

I don't have any experience on Hudson so I am no help. However Slabs has given some good advice to you!

I was at a fish fry yesterday west side of Strang. Very good looking area and thought it might be a good place to chase a crappie too.

Two years go, was fishing for bass up in the river and caught a good crappie so picked up the jig rod and loaded the boat in a short stretch of the river...I would definitely take him up on that offer!!

I think I went to the fry by way of dry gulch road. Is that the one that hits hwy 20 a little ways west of the Salina bridge? I had went on a bike ride and stayed the weekend at a friends house over that way. Spent the OU/Texas game at Harbor Lights bar and the 2nd half at the Copperhead Run Rally party. The fish fry was at Harbor Inn. Looked like a decent ramp to use during all winds but east. I might have to take you up on the offer someday. It only took me about 35-40 minutes to get home from the fry, so you're not that far from me.
