I focus entirely on sandies and walleye in Hefner this time of year. If water is coming in, then fis the inlet for both. If no water then drift flats in 6-8 feet with worms.
I don't expect any responses to this, but I'll be there early in the morning. I fish for all sorts of species but will target crappie in the morning. Was thinking about starting right by the ramp after I unload. Any chance the crappie are back by the boat docks or have they moved to deeper, open waters given the heat? Will also target sandies and walleye, but would love to hit on some crappie.

i have caught a couple decent size crappie each day ive fished at hefner along boat docks. 2" grub along bottom is what worked for me. Was targeting walleye and snuck in a couple nice crappie each time. 10"-13" ones. They are laying well under the dock part hanging hard to the cover (at least ones i caught).
On a side note..the walleye are hitting fairly good right after sundown nothing huge but fun nonetheless.
thanks for the heads up - I'll probably target those docks 30 minutes & then move on if not successful.
