I think they were just starting to come in when we got hit by this cold front. Not sure about a site with temps.
I've been reading the Eufaula reports and it looks like nothing is happening shallow yet. What does the water temp have to be before it really gets into gear? Also is there a web site that gives Eufaula water temps daily? I've fished Eufaula 2 times but plan on learning the lake better this year.
Thanks Panfish Paladin

they were gettin closer before the cold front..last friday the surface temp was 64.8 degrees..today it was 54.3 degrees..dropped 10 degrees since the front..the fish have left the shallow brushpiles and moved to deeper piles and they are scattered, really scattered..cleaned 23 this afternoon and had very few throwbacks..we need alot of sunshine..like duckslayer not sure of a website that has lake temps but the surface temp will be very close to the soil temps in your yard..might give that a try just for a reference..we need sunshine but then again its just the last of March

I talked to a friend that got on them in 1' ow last Thursday, so the males started up to bed. Some sun and overnight temps in the 60's should get them going again.

Headed down last saturday (3/26) with slab daddy and his son to see if we could catch a few southern okie crappie. However, it didn't work out that way. Fishing for us was pretty tough, and we fished from hiway 31 up to crowder. Saw a lot of boats around crowder, but didn't see a whole lot of catching. Talked to a couple fishermen who had caught a few, but said they were pretty scattered. I'll be back once the weather heats up a bit. I've read about you guys talking about the lake being low, but I didn't expect it to be that low. There are areas I've fished the past few years that are dry land. I'll take my camera next time to get pics of all the structure so I can reference for future trips.
Was that a bite?
I meant to post that report on the lake eufaula report thread.

Lip is right the over night temps is the key! When have those 50 degree nights the fish will start to move again. Right now they are still staging! Suspended over structure right now, your best techniques will be slow trolling, or minnows over your favorite hole next to deeper water! The next warm trend with a full moon wil be a big wave on the bank! Remember how big Eufual is, the spawn can last till June! I can't speak for the fish up on the north end of Eufaula tho, I guess those fish up there are smarter than me! Tough tough!!! It is right by my house and it kills me not to catch'em! EB
