I didn't even know there was still a bait/tackle shop in the area... I have seen a tiny little bait shop in the 193rd and 11th street area but I didn't know there were any others.
I know I'd use one if it were available and I knew where it was...
Okie Bait and tackle is going to retire how many from this board buy or would buy live bait around Broken Arrow and Coweta also the store between Wagoner and Coweta is for sale and will soon close down if there is enough people that want minnows and bait I may open a bait shop in East BA

George, I don't think you will get an accurate assessment for justifying a bait shop strictly on replies here about people buying bait from you in the future.
I believe it will come down to your ability to advertise a new bait shop and tough it out for a couple of years until 1000's of fishermen in your area know where to buy bait.
The biggest factor in my opinion will be location. Preferably some spot, busy intersection along the route to the fishing location. Close to a convenience store or other established businesses.
Your wholesale cost for fishing equipment if you choose to sell fishing gear, will be greater than Wal-Mart's retail prices. I suggest buying your inventory from Wal-Mart and selling it for the same price. You won't make any money off the fishing equipment (rods and reels) but you can compensate by selling other things the public are less likely to compare prices to Walmart. IE: jigs, lures, line, bobbers, minnow buckets, Lady Ga-Ga CD's. You know, stuff we just can't do without when we go fishing.
I'd really give it some serious thought before commiting to such a business. But if you decide to do this in the future, my best to you and good luck.

Stink I made a living all my life being a gambler and I know I would be the only game from Broken Arrow to the Verdigris river and I already own the property most likey I will give it a go

Hey George, I was telling my Wife last week that spot in front of your home would make a darn good place for a Bait Shop!!
Just hope you open early enough so that us early birds can stop by and get bait. Hate to hear about Buck Stop, but geez, I think he shot his self in the foot as soon as he bought it when he stopped carrying gas. Then you never knew when he would be open....
Would love to see a GOOD bait shop open in the area....
Would you have any time to fish? Sounds like a full time and then some job to me.
Hey, tell me a story!
Kenny
Always time to fish Kenny getting everything in order as to do so !!!!!!!!

If like you say already own the property. Thats a top of the line hurdle you don't have to cross. Let us know when you open I'm close enough to stop in sometime and swap lies.
