I have heard it called the little river marina and the whole thing has broken from the bank and floated away....I don't see any reason to close the whole lake for cleanup...just the ramp located at the marina....I did not see it affecting the main lake...most of the docks appreared to be behind the tire break. It did put quite a bit of oil and gas on the top of the water....tough loss for all those boat owners...hope they had insurance.

The marina was demolished and most of it and the boats are a twisted mess at the bottom of the lake. Clear Bay and the boat ramp at the damn will be closed until they get the power back on and the water pumps to Norman working.

I had a meeting today with the City Manager of Del City and he indicated that the lake was closed due to alot of boats that are drifting around the lake and a recovery operation is under way. There appears to be alot of floating debris that may cause boating problems and Liability concerns. Lets get things cleaned up first before we get back on the water and hita submerged boat or something. The fish will still be there. They aren't going to get up on their fins and walk to Draper

I made numerous calls today but got no answers. As of now the website has the same posting as this morning.

**IMPORTANT NOTICE** Because of recent severe weather damage, Lake Thunderbird State Park is closed until at least May 13, 2010. Park condition updates will be posted as soon as more information is available

I just spoke with a clerk at Denver Corner and possibly the south end of the lake will be open this weekend however at this point there is no boat traffic allowed on the lake.

This info was posted on the Oklahoma Wildlife Department website.

Thunderbird: May 11. All nine access points to the lake have been closed and Oklahoma Lake Patrol crews have been dispatched to patrol the water to prevent people from going on the lake that is littered with debris. The Little River Marina, camping facilities, comfort stations and lake huts at the Little Axe Campground and Fisherman’s Point were heavily damaged or destroyed and will be closed indefinitely. The Clear Bay area and access to the South Dam at Lake Thunderbird are closed until power and water can be restored. All facilities on the north side of the lake will be closed until at least May 17, so work crews can finish damage assessments and clean up debris. Leslie Blair, Public Information Officer, Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department.
