Seems the trend now are the sickle hooks, after using them you will know why! Super sharp. I think the company out of Florida sells them TTI or TTC, something like that. Check in the jig-tying forum they can direct you better than I.
I'm gonna started making some more jigs soon, and I was wondering if anyone out there pours their own Jig heads? I also was wanting to try making some Crappie jigs w/ different style of hooks not the normal jig head hook. Any info I would be greatful for!!!
Thanks,
AC

"Never Fry Bacon Naked"
look up Grousefly... he does great work
"Mister, I love the way you wear that hat."
"You don't know nothin'."
I generally pour my own and still do with regular jig hooks since it is easier to pull out of the rocks compare to the sickle. I think this year I will to order some more, since me and my dad went thru 1000 hooks in about 2 yrs or so depend on how much we fish.
But I usually make them during days I don't fish and the fishing picks up during fall and winter is prime time for me.
