Travis, is there a video showing how you deploy the transducer? I'm not sure I undestand how it works. Looks like you take the pole out of the clips that hold it and manually insert it in the mount up to the cone shapped end of the mounting plate. I'm guessing too that the cone shapped part doesn't lock into the mounting plate, just stays in place due to gravity and the fit?
I'm thinking of putting my LSS2 on it thereby allowing me to use the built in 2D transducer on my Fortrex. Or, I could keep my LSS2 on the Fortrex and use a standard Lowrance 2D transducer on your mount. Any thoughts on doing it either way?

I manually place the pole in the holder. It locks into place by a tab that slides over. The reason I went with this mount is because I have a GPS controlled trolling motor that sometimes wraps around 360 degrees or more. Didn't want my transducer on the motor in fear it would get hung up.

Dr NIp, Did you do the entire boat with HydroTurf? how old is it? Will it hold up to abuse?

I've only done the casting deck so far and about 2 months ago. So far so good.

Sent the manufacturer an email with an question and he came right back. Seemed very customer oriented and helpful. I placed an order for my Garmin downVu transducer ($65) so now I'll have both 2D and downVu up there.

Got it mounted between flooding rains and twisters. Seemed high quality. I'll try to take a pic or two when I can get on the water (at a lake.)

what about at the boat ramp?
any fears of the ducer hanging over the bow and hitting the dock?

Well, I take it up when I run the big motor and I just have to not nose in to the dock for the hanger. My Xi5 protrudes some also but I rarely get the nose of the boat that close to the dock. It's on a Lund V hull so the nose is usually a foot or more from the dock.
