That's fast!! Be sure to wear your PFD (and probably a crash helmet)!
It was quit exhilarating! It was scary at 1st but then I got use to it. Felt like I was flying.

Oh yeah, I have a life vest on and kill switch. You won't find me on the water without it just like you won't find me driving without a seatbelt. Better safe than dead!
It is way more motor than what I need or will use. I maxed it out to what the hull was rated so in the event I get a bigger boat I'll be able to transfer the motor. 20 MPH felt safe.
One big roller and you're airborne.

Well if the bite is off you can always pull skiers!
Back in the late 50's, I raced 12' flatbottom hydroplanes with 30hp motors. Top speed was about 35mph. At that speed, a common problem was air getting under the bow of the boat and the "wing effect" occuring. I learned a lot about aerodynamics the hard way. Be safe...and good fishing....dave

Oh I don't have plans of going 30 mph down the lake. 20 mph was just fine. The extra HP will help if fishing with someone and/or livewell full.
Congrats Nip on your motor troubles finally being over. Wow, that top speed is way fast in that little boat. My 22' pontoon has a 4-stroke 90hp and 27-28 is about my max speed.
