I think I misnamed the TM I have, I believe it's a PD55ap, basically, electric steer with an auto pilot that's always wigged out and a foot control.
OK boyz and gulls, is time for me to upgrade my TM. I currently have an older AP55 with auto pilot and the auto pilot has always been an auto POS. I need to know EXACTLY what to shop for. The 55lb thrust seems to be just fine for most areas I fish since I tend to stay away from the white caps.
Do I need a new (or used) TM or will the I-pilot work with what I already have?
A Terrova, PDV2?
An I-pilot setup? https://www.basspro.com/Minn-Kota-iP...duct/10215401/
Or, can I get the whole shebang together and save a few $$$?
Someone in the know chime in and help me change my ignorance into a crappy hamper.

I believe the i-pilot only works with Terrova and PowerDrive V2.
You might look into the new Motorguide Xi5 w/GPS if you are in the market for a new TM.
Really depends on you, if you ever put a Terrova on your boat you would use the PowerDrive for an anchor, hands down a lot more easy to use and operate. With that said, if you are in the market for new I would suggest the Ilink in the 55 Terrova. Motor Guide has a new one out but I haven't seen it in action. The remote on the the Link is way better than the one for the Ipilot.

This is what I'm looking at. Ilink? I haven't seen a thing about it.
What's it link to?

Compatible hummingbird finders.
I've read horrible reviews on the minn kota's being hard to deploy. Any experiences or fixes for this?
That's the reason I said he would love the Terrova, Ilink is the new model and heck of an upgrade in remote.
