prep is key! I painted the inside of my boat. I cleaned it with OH, sanded with a sander with 80 grit paper, wiped again with OH, then sprayed it with acid wash to etch it. i would say to etch it for sure! I get my local Technology center ( the one for high school students) to bend/break, weld, machine anything i have. They love getting outside small jobs. It always cost me a 12 pack of Pepsi and a 12 pack of Dr Pepper. generally same day service.

Lucky for you. That casting deck costed a good $200 more than what I really wanted to pay for it. I'm going to rough up the aluminum a little, blow it off, wash down, wipe with TSP substitute, spray with Moeller Zinc Chromate self etching primer and then squirt down with the paint that is in the mail. Not too worried about it or the flooring soon to come as I plan on laying SeaDek on top of all.

Just a follow up on my casting deck. Finally got it painted and looking just like I wanted it! Best thing about it, no wood like you see alot of people do with tin boats! Total extension was roughly 24". Thanks for looking.
