At 8:00 A<M this morning, we had an official 12" at the airport, so I'm sure the 12.9" records gonna be blown away by the end of the day. My little hot rod is covered.
Still at work at the fire station. Been here for 52 straight hours. Going to try and make it to another fireman's house a mile from my station for the rest of the day. Then have to be back here in the morning at 7. Hope my family at home makes it alright without me. Our trucks and ambulances have chains and we are still getting stuck everywhere. We have wreckers stuck trying to pull our vehicles out. We have over 12 inches and it is still snowing. Can't believe the number of people trying to drive in this. Several people in CARS, not trucks, trying to drive and stranded everywhere. STAY HOME!!!! BE SAFE FRIENDS!

We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing."
Well down here we got 6in. total with 4 to5 ft drifts. I hit to of the drift that we even with my hood. And my wife telling me to slow down. You know how those back seat drivers know better. It was alot of fun. Glad were not get anymore! You'll be carefull.
that sucks that people don't listen...they started telling people here in okc four days ago it was going to happen....guess last christmas trained them....not one sig 82 all of last night and not too many people on the roads today....sure makes it alot easier when people stay home like they are told.....but, the fun is not over....low tonight...-1 high...not sure it will make 10 tomorrow....woo hoo...can't wait to get back out in it!
Odies stuck in BA! Everyone load up and let's do a raid on his fishin holes. On a more serious note Doug, I actually saw a county dozer with a road grader backing him out in front of my place this evening. Perhaps ol Mike Helm figures on taking care of more of his area other than Owasso this storm? Anyway, Claremore's basically shut down from people getting stuck and abandoning their cars. The graders can't even maneuver because there are so many. I myself have ocean waves of snow in my driveway anywhere from a foot deep up to 3'. I'll spend till noon easily shoveling a swath to get to the road. I figured to kill part of the time to call Leland and order up one of those fine fishin sticks he peddles. It'll definitely be one of a kind. Hope you make it back this way soon Doug.

Craig, I made it to my fireman buddies house here in BA and holed up for the day. Back to work in the AM. I hope they get the county road to Sunnyside graded sometime tomorrow, so I can get home Thursday. Be careful shoveling snow it is very strenuous on the heart and lungs in the cold air. Sure wish the lake wasn't going to be froze over for weeks. I may have to head south when the roads allow. Everyone be safe and don't travel unless absolutely necassary.

You can't head south until Leland finishes my rod, then I'll let you save me some shipping charges.

Well Okies we got lucky in Wichita only had 5" of snow but its very cold.Heard Parsons in SE Ks. got 13".With all the wind we had could hardly get the truck in the driveway last night, will have to do some shoveling today.
What do you do about a place that threatens to fire you if you don't come to work during a mess like this.
Hopper, tell them you will gladly work if they will come and get you. I feel like fireman are essential employees and they are dedicated to serving the public. With that being said, we had over 25% of our employess today that couldn't get here. The guys from yesterday had to cover for them. I would not be here today either had I went home yesterday morning. I stayed with another fireman yesterday 1 mile fron my station and almost didn't make it out of his addition this morning in my 3/4 ton 4wd. Some people just don't understand " ALL TIME " snowfall.
