Best if you leave the cedar tree and take out some of the thick stand of trees. It will open up your view of the lake and remember that the cedar stays green all year. Besides that, you can decorate for Christmas.

    Lookin' good Stink

Best decorations for a cedar tree:

2-8X8X16 Hadite blocks on the bottom, and a 2 liter pop bottle on top, straight into Lake Eufaula. Live crappie will adorn the rest!! LoL

Lookin good Jim! We need to come down this week and help out with some chores....since we missed the wall standings. I'm not worth a flip at carpentry, but a darn good swamper!

Your help is always welcomed Leland. Not much I can be doing presently due to all the scaffolding blocking the place and it has to stay up until the metal roof is down. Oh, I could be doing some exterior painting on the cornish but with the North wind beating down and the wind chill around freezing, I'm not eager to do anything for a couple of days.

I'll be hollaring at you later on, maybe next week. Til then, stay warm my friend.

The weather continued to be a problem and the roof was set back week after week until we finally got a break last week. After waiting since Thanksgiving, the roofers were able to finish their job and now my house is totally in the dry.

The large window is installed and also all the soffit board and trim. Two years ago I found the cedar log washed up next door and my neighbor let me have it to use in my new house.

It is now one of the corner post on my porch and I'm glad I found a use for the cedar log.

Now that my house is in the dry, I can focus on working inside and the weather will not be a big factor. I've still got some painting to do around the upper exterior and once all of that is done, I can take down the scaffolding and place sheeting on the front.

My stove-pipe is functional and once the siding is up in front, I could actually build a fire and keep warm inside. My plan is to be in the house by mid-March. Wish me luck, I still have a lot of work to do, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel now. Thank God!

Oh, by the way, I ain't never doing this again. I'm getting too old.......hahahaha.

Stink, I know you probably have said before, but where are you building the cabin. Next time I get down to Eufaula I may try to stop and look at it. It looks like it is coming along nicely.

Odie, I'm about a mile or so from Arrowhead State Park in Arrowhead Estates. Anytime you think you might be in the area, just let me know and I'll have the coffee ready, you're always welcome as are the rest of our bunch.

    Thanks for your compliments...... :D
